Rectangular beam with size 75 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm float in the water with long side parallel to the water level. If part of the beam that is above the water surface is 10cm, calculate the weight of the beam.
Settlement.
High beam immersed in water:
d = 50-10 = 40 cm = 0.4 m
The volume of the beam is immersed in water:
V = 0,4 x0, 5x0, 75 = 0.15 m
Weight bars = weight of liquid on the move
= y of water V = 1000x0, 15 = 150 kgf
